World Book Day 2018
On Thursday 1st March, before Storm Emma’s snowy conditions set in, students and staff enjoyed celebrating World Book Day. The students especially loved seeing everyone dressed up and guessing which book characters everyone was pretending to be.
Students joined together with Merchants’ Primary and Barton Hill Academy to enjoy a World Book Day special interactive performance by Crescendo – Music for Kids. The Roald Dahl special focused on live muisc and comical performances based around the book Revolting Rhymes, with particular pieces from Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs.
Mrs Speller, Head of English at Venturers' Academy, was full of praise about the event, saying how great it was for the students to share the day with the other academies:
‘It was such a fab day, hearing the excited responses from the children after watching the Revolting Rhymes performance was lovely’.
